“Love Baked In” Baking Workshop

Join Lizzie’s Love Cakes for a heartwarming afternoon filled with storytelling, baking and remembrance. In this interactive workshop, you will craft mini pound cake bites—affectionately named “Love Bites”—while discovering baking tips and impactful stories behind our featured recipe.

Each workshop pays tribute to a specific ancestor with a custom cake recipe dedicated to them. We will also welcome a special guest from the lineage of the honored ancestor.  In this workshop, we will honor the love of Roberta Sarah Thompson.

Through the sharing of these stories and recipes, we honor the richness of our heritage. We recognize the resilience of our ancestors who have influenced our lives, helping us stay connected to our identity. Together, we honor our history while crafting new memories, ensuring that the legacy of love continues.

Participants will receive a recipe card, a slice of love cake to take home, and a favor bag filled with a special gift from two local small businesses: Ladybug Sweets & Treats NJ and El Merkury along with a heart-shaped raffle prize.

Location: Hagert & York, 1999 E Boston St, Philadelphia, PA 19125.  Street parking.  Hagert & York is an apartment residence in East Kensington, a Northern Philadelphia neighborhood located in close proximity of Fishtown.
